FAQ

TECHNICAL

1. Q: What do you mean I can watch Fine TV anytime and anywhere?

A: Fine TV’s contents can be viewed anytime and anywhere because we at Fine TV, as an IPTV broadcaster, do not have a fixed schedule for our contents. We give this option of deciding what and when to watch totally to our subscribers. All you need as customer to enjoy Fine TV’s content through laptop and oh yes, you need to have broadband connection. The Internet connection must be at least at 512 Kbps using the latest browser for example using Mozilla Firefox 2.0 (with Windows Media Player Plugin) or via Internet Explorer 7.0+.

Please log in thru our website www.finetv.com.my, and start watching Fine TV channels.

2. Q: Will there be frequent jerking and/or buffering as I am streaming?

A: No. However, you will encounter some delay, resulting from the congestion over the Internet or due to the speed of your Internet connection or it is dependent on the subscriber’s bandwidth allocation. Unfortunately, there is not much that we can do to rectify this problem. If you are on dial-up or sharing your connection within the company (utilizing a shared bandwidth) this may occur frequently.

3. Q: Upon selecting the title of my choice, I find that my chosen title takes a long time to appear onto my screen. Why does this happen?

A: This is due to bandwidth variation provided by each Internet provider. This is our general finding:-

Maxis:                   60 seconds

Celcom and others: 45 seconds

Unifi:                     10 seconds

4. Q: Does Fine TV streaming work on other operating systems such Windows, IPads or any other platforms?

A: Yes it does and it should work fine. We have done the testing and troubleshooting for Windows. We are presently testing on IPads and several other platforms i.e. androidians system and once this is successfully completed, we will announce to you.

5. Q: Can Fine TV be viewed on the TV? How?

A: Of course! While most will be happy watching their choice shows on the laptop, subscribers can option to use the HDMI cable that connects the TV’s USB port which is then connected to the USB port of the computer.

6. Q: Why does ‘Stream not available’ appear on my screen?

A: This simply means that your bandwidth is at a lower capacity than the requirement of Fine TV, which is actually only 300Kbps. To resolve this, simply click at ‘Low Res‘button that is located just below the viewing screen and continue to enjoy your show.
